Bert briefed his ongoing activities in support of his plan to get the LPARC personnel trained up on packet operations. This plan will be presented at the Aug 2015 LPARC meeting. In support of this effort, Bert will be meeting with Cap Pennell on 10 June to discuss the Santa Cruz county packet setup and protocols at the county EOC. Bert will also be comparing Paclink to RMS express and candidate SW to interface with Winlink. Bert mentioned that his plan was to achieve compatibility with Santa Cruz county first. It turns out that Santa Clara county can accept Santa Cruz messages with the vital content even though they may not be in Santa Clara County message formats.
Bert also mentioned the possibility of getting a better TNC for the School equipment. George stated he had a Kamtronics KPC 3+ that might fit the bill. Bert also suggested getting a second Kamtronics KPC 3+ for station operational reliability. The cost would be $200, and Austin mentioned that the current club account easily had that amount on hand.
Mike, a visitor to the meeting asked about how to get his technician’s license. Several folks provided Mike with good approaches.
Old Business
Bert motions meeting adjourned at 7:36 pm, Gary seconds, adjourned.
