LPARC Minutes 2008-02-04

--- Bert Bailey called the meeting to order at 7:47 PM in the Burrell Fire Station

--- Attendees: George AE6KE, Bert KG6MBA, Bill KG6VMX and Marc W6ZZZ

--- Guests: L. Fourie (from the ham radio class) and Rich W1WUH (President of the Santa Cruz Co. ARC)

Minutes From Last Month

--- Minutes from the January meeting were approved

Treasurer’s Report

--- Income of $205 ($25 from dues, $180 from gift radio sale), monthly expense of $25.34 for the phone in the repeater shack (used for remote control and phone patches), Jan 31 balance of $947.70

--- The repeater replacement fund has received donations of $675, that plus our emergency preparedness grant from the LPCF of $700 should be close to replace our soon to be failing AB6VS repeater controller. George gave a description on where we stood on replacement selection and purchase (real soon now).

LPARC Business

--- Our Ham radio class for CERT members and other interested community members (12 students!) is led by Jennifer N2RDU and meets on Thursday nights January 31 through February 28, 7 PM in Room 11 at C.T. English middle school

ARES Business

--- Our training was a very useful discussion about what everyone carried in their emergency go-bags

--- Bert had attended the Santa Clara OES training last Saturday; the subject was packet usage with Outpost

--- The ARES radio equipment and wall-mounted cabinet will be moved to the LP office (bolted to the wall in the closet), a work party for this needs to be organized

AB6VS LPARC Repeater Equipment Report

--- Nothing to report
